Bienvenidos à Barcelona! This beautiful and lively tourism hub is one of Spain's greatest gems. Bordering the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is the capital of the Catalonia region, and boasts a wide variety of culture, cuisine, art, and history. Barcelona is also widely known and treasured for its vibrant nightlife scene. Barcelona is truly a city that never sleeps, and can spark the interest of anyone who visits the charming city. From its towering religious architecture like La Sagrada Familia and Monsterrat down to its sandy beaches and crowded squares like Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter, Barcelona is an adventure around every turn and will keep you on your toes. If you get the chance to venture to Barcelona, I sincerely hope you are able to fall in love with it as much as I have! Top Do's & Dont's:
Do:
use public transportation and the subway system
learn some basic Spanish phrases to get around
plan to go out/ clubbing on Wednesdays/ Thursdays
be aware of pick pocketing and petty theft in crowded/ tourist areas
Don't:
expect to be able to go out to dinner before 8:00pm
try to access the bars and clubs before midnight (most open at midnight)
walk around alone (especially at night and in less busy areas)
wear flashy jewelry or advertise expensive clothing/ accessories
